POEMAS solar radio telescope used for solar data acquisition and solar flare observation

POEMAS

POEMAS covers a critical frequency range between microwave and submillimeter observations, enabling the estimation of key physical parameters of solar flares.
This includes insights into magnetic fields, electron populations, and energy release processes.

Frequencies: 45 / 90 GHz
Type: Solar radio time series (millimeter range)
Resolution: 10ms
Available periods: 2011 (Nov–Dec);
2012 and 2013 (Jan–Dec);
2019 (Jun–Jul, Sep–Dec);
2020 (Jan–Mar, Sep–Nov);
2024 (Apr–Nov)
Note: Data coverage is not continuous due to instrument maintenance and operational downtime.
Location: CASLEO, Argentina
SST solar submillimeter telescope used for high frequency solar data and solar flare monitoring

SST

SST enables observations in the submillimeter range, a key spectral region for studying high-energy solar emission processes.
This allows investigation of non-thermal components and deeper understanding of energy release during solar flares.

Frequencies: 212 / 405 GHz
Type: Solar radio time series (submillimeter range)
Resolution: 5ms, 40ms and 1s products
Available periods: N/A
Note: SST data is currently being processed and is expected to be available in the coming months.
Location: CASLEO, Argentina
